Assessment Task

This assignment is designed to provide you with a true-to-industry business-project experience. This project plan will form the basis of the client report you will produce by the end of the trimester. All successful projects should begin with a plan and resource allocation, which have been agreed to by all team members.

In this 1,500-word document, you will establish the parameters of your report, including the milestones. Please refer to the Task Instructions for details on how to complete this task.

Task Instructions

To complete this assessment task, you must complete the following sections and deliver a project plan based on the client case study or brief provided. The word limits are provided as a guide only.

1. Form and register a team.

• Form a team comprising five members

• The deadline for team registration is 11.45 pm AEST, Friday, end of Module 1.2 (Week 2).

• To register your team, send your lecturer an e-mail with ‘MIS611 Team Registration’ in the subject line. In the body of the e-mail, list the names and student identification numbers of all the members in your team.

• You are required to send the registration e-mail to your facilitator before the registration deadline.

• After the registration deadline, those students who are not in a team will be allocated to a team by the lecturer.

• You must complete a team contract detailing the roles and responsibilities of each team member. This is to be signed by each team member and provided to your lecturer no later than the end of module 2.1 (Week 3).

2. Review your subject notes to establish the relevant area of investigation that applies to the case. Reread any relevant readings for this subject.

Re-read any relevant readings for this subject. Before you start writing, refer back to Assessment 1 in which you planned your approach for the assessments. MIS608 Agile Project Management and PROJ6000 Project Management may contain relevant information.

4. Consider using graphical representation. The graphical representation of ideas and diagrams in the form of tables, graphs, diagrams and models is encouraged. These must be anchored in the context of the material and explained and justified if they are to be included. No executive summary is required.

5. Ensure your Project Plan adopts the following structure:

• Title page

State the subject code and name, assignment title, students’ names, students’ numbers and your lecturer’s name.

• Client & Context (200 words)

Provide an overview of the client. Describe their current business operations, including both the external and internal context (e.g., In which industry do they operate? What is the business structure?).

• Problem, Objective & Deliverables (300-400 words)

Answer the following questions: What is/are the problem(s) the client needs to solve?

What is the purpose of your project (i.e., what is your project providing to your client)?

What will your project produce for the client?

• An Existing Information Systems and Technologies section (200–250 words)

Outline existing Information systems and/or technologies that are relevant to your client, their product or service. This should include both the technologies the client currently has in place and those within industry that may affect the client.

• Stakeholders and Communications (200-250 words)

Provide a stakeholder and communications plan that addresses the following questions:

Who has a vested interest in the project that you will undertake both internally and externally? What is their role and what data and technology do they need to support their work at present? How will this project affect their work? What level of interest do they have in the project?

The communications plan should be mapped to the stakeholders and provide an overview of when, how often and through which channels you will communicate with them.

• Roles and Responsibilities (250-350 words)

List the team members in your team and their roles. Provide a brief summary of each member and what skills they have that are appropriate to the role. Include an outline detailing the:

- Project manager

- Product Owner

- Domain Expert (nominate the field in which they are an expert)

- Customer Representative

- Lead Business Analyst

• Key Dates & Milestones (300 words or less with visual articulation of ideas)

List the start and finish date for your project alongside all the milestones (i.e., the due dates) associated with the project; a Gantt Chart would be appropriate.

1. Introduction

Global poverty, which affects about 9.3% of the world's population, is one of the most critical issues confronting humanity today (World Bank, 2022). Numerous organisations have intervened to provide aid in the humanitarian effort and Giverly is one of them.

According to Giverly, n.d., Giverly is a modern finance lifestyle brand that prioritises giving back to the community. Hence, it functions as a Cashback-Charity platform, converting frequent monetary transactions into valuable donations. After seeing remarkable success in their operations in India and Australia, Giverly has made the strategic choice to expand globally. This enormous project comprises the creation of a comprehensive global information infrastructure to provide seamless connectivity and smooth operations across international borders.

This report will examine Giverly's challenges and provide solutions, as well as present a detailed project plan outlining roles and duties within the team to properly complete tasks. The strategy will provide specific recommendations for overcoming setbacks and guaranteeing the successful implementation of the assigned objectives.

2. Client and Context (Richard)

Through its affiliate marketing system, Giverly, a philanthropic organisation, collaborates with 500+ partner stores in fashion, food, airlines, hotels, travel, finance, grocery, gifts, beauty, and all other essential sectors (Giverly, n.d.-c). Giverly is paid a commission by merchants when a customer recommended by Giverly successfully completes a specific action on the retailer's website (Giverly, n.d.-b). However, as a result, while this action is frequently connected with making a purchase, it can also involve tasks such as opening an account or requesting a price. Hence, the commission might be calculated as a percentage of the sale price or as a flat fee.

Giverly donates a percentage of its commission to charity. As is standard, 50% of the commission is set aside for charitable donations. However, Giverly consistently provides and conveys values related to the contribution portion of the commission. For instance, if a retailer offers a commission rate of 5.00%, Giverly displays a contribution percentage of 2.50%. Donations are only credited to user accounts after being submitted to Giverly by the retailer (Giverly, n.d.-b).

Technology has changed the phase of a business. Due to innovation, there have been several changes in the business that have increased demand globally. Giverly is an online charity fund-raising programme. As a startup, they are currently working in Australia and India. They are also expanding to the USA, UAE, and Singapore (Cerotti, 2023). As a result of this, Giverly is facing some issues finding the latest information systems to connect globally and needs to identify the best framework to present the prototypes (Cerotti, 2023).

Objectives:

• Identifying the best way to make Giverly globally available.

• Identifying the latest information systems and technologies that can help the organisation achieve higher growth.

• Identifying the connectivity of information systems in the countries they are planning to expand.

• Identifying the stakeholders and their interest in this application.

• Providing a framework for executing the prototypes.

• Understanding the customer's experience and mapping how much it is valued by the customer.

• Techniques that can be used for the marketing of Giverly.

Deliverables:

• Analysis of methods that are suitable for Giverly to be globally available.
• Details on different information systems and technologies, along with their benefits to Giverly.
• Findings on the culture and connectivity in the USA, UAE, and Singapore.
• List of stakeholders, along with their description of roles within the project and an analysis of their interests and expectations.
• Designed a framework that is suitable for the prototypes of Giverly.
• Analysis report on the user experience after conducting direct interviews and online surveys.
• Detailed analysis of progress of work in each phase.

An Existing Information Systems and Technologies Section

Giverly, a contemporary financial lifestyle brand, uses many information systems and technology to run its cashback-charity platform. Information systems and technology important to Giverly, its product, and its services include-

• E-commerce Integration- Giverly partners with e-commerce platforms and online stores to provide cashback benefits. These services' APIs monitor user purchases and verify cashback eligibility. This connection streamlines online shopping for Giverly members (Marnewick & Marnewick, 2021).

• Payment Gateways- Giverly uses a CRM system to handle customer data, monitor interactions, and analyse consumer behaviour. This technology enables Giverly customise user experiences, monitor consumer preferences, and target promotions.

• Mobile Apps- Giverly has iOS and Android apps allowing users to access the platform and perform transactions (Giverly, 2018). These smartphone applications make Giverly more accessible.

• Cryptocurrency- Giverly, a digital platform, has integrated bitcoin into its operations, transforming how users trade value. Giverly allows frictionless and safe transactions between users by employing blockchain technology, regardless of geographical obstacles or conventional financial systems. Users may now transfer and receive payments using popular cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and others, making the transaction more efficient and transparent. Giverly's bitcoin integration also enables rapid cross-border transfers, removes the need for middlemen, and lowers transaction costs.

• Metaverse Integration- Through the adoption of the metaverse, Giverly has the capacity to develop immersive virtual experiences that allow its users to engage with its products or services within a dynamic and interconnected digital realm.

• Web 3 Technology- Giverly can utilise Web3 which involves blockchain and decentralised apps in order to improve their business operations, transparency, privacy, and security. This will also enable the decentralise the marketvalue and value exchange.

• Artificial Intelligence (AI)- This technology can be utilised by Giverly to automate and enhance different facets of its operations, such as support for customers, analytics of data, as well as personalised proposals. This implementation of AI has the potential to result in enhanced efficiency and increased customer satisfaction.

Introduction of the team members should start with Richard John is the Project manager since he is able to focus on the big picture at the same time was able to catch the smallest detail with his digital intelligence skill by analysing any situation and using the knowledge the right way that makes the difference to achieve success (Marnewick & Marnewick, 2021).

Second member is Victoria Okafor she is the Product owner and one of the key stakeholders, during the preparation phase of the project Victoria put together the team and have been overseeing the whole operation, getting regular updates from Richard and giving feedback accordingly to proceed with the project is one of her responsibilities using her communication and collaboration skill she is able to steer the project to follow her vision.

Third member is Can Dedeoglu he is the Domain Expert and wide variety of expertise from Cybersecurity, Customer relations and communicating the goals to stakeholders with different backgrounds (both technical and nontechnical) is couple of them. He will use the skills to increase the project success while teaching the core values about security which is that it is everyone’s responsibility on a project this important.

Fourth member of the team is Shameeha Mohammed Farook will work as Customer representative and expert on communication on all levels. And responsible for collecting information from users in platforms both online and by direct interview as well as contacting variety of stakeholders and assure that the whole team have been made aware of any updates to make sure the project is on the right track.

And fifth member is Akhila Alapati will be Lead Business Analyst and will be the person who will bridge the gap in between the stakeholders and the team by analysing process and gathering requirements from stakeholders ensure providing solutions matches business goals. Using leadership and team management skills Akhila will provide guidance and support to the whole team and using problem solving and critical thinking skill to analyse the new domain requirements of expanding new markets which are USA, UAE, and Singapore.
