This unit aims to give you an opportunity to combine many facets of your acquired MBA skills into the production of a high-quality research project.
Assignment 4 - the Individual Reflective Journal - is to ensure each student is able to contribute to document a critical reflection of their personal learning process, as experienced during this unit. It will be best to build your journal progressively, by making notes each week, starting at week 1 and going through to week 12. Your notes will serve as a reminder of which sections you personally contributed to, what you learnt, and how you experienced the learning process. A significant aspect of the learning journal will be your reflections on how well you co-operated with your team in the various phases of the Business Research Project, i.e. Topic Approval, Literature Review, and Methodology BUT your emphasis should be on what you experienced, what challenged you personally, how you dealt with that and what you gained as a result. It is NOT enough to objectively summarise what was done. This assignment must reflect and describe your own personal deep learning AND be convincing to the reader that you were integrally engaged throughout the learning process.
Assignment Structure should be as the following:
1. Based on my personal contribution to the topic selection, problem definition, research question, writing of topic approval submission, and team charter, how I experienced this, what challenges I faced, and what I learnt from that.
2. Based on my personal contribution to the literature review report, i.e. search process, summarising of relevant articles, designing the outline/argument/structure of the literature review, writing up the literature review, how I experienced this, what challenges I faced, and what I learnt from that.
3. Based on my personal contribution to the research methodology report, i.e. my role in discussions about methods, sampling, questionnaire design, data collection, analysis and interpretation, how I experienced this, what challenges I faced, and what I learnt from that.
4. Based on my reflections of the total research process, the insights I gained and any issues, struggles, challenges, synergies I experienced, both individually and in the teamwork, how I experienced this, what challenges I faced, and what I learnt from that.

Furthermore, I learned several sorts of research methods and help in creating a reflective notebook on a task which I conduct overall research. Moreover, after approval of the topic, another major part of research is its questions as well as objectives on which the overall investigation is based. Research questions were revealed to the group after selection of the topic and when the teacher instructs for incorporating research. In all these weeks, I learned how to select research subject based on the issue stated as well as way of designing research questions related to the subject of research (Triantafillidou, Siomkos, Papafilippaki, 2017, p15(4)). From this, I have obtained knowledge which would help me in future in formulating research subjects as well as appropriate research questions for conducting a study in the future without any requirement of anyone else help.

Reflection on Research Methodology
Research methodology is an essential section of research as it assists in conducting overall assignment in a better manner and gaining effective outcomes which are necessary (Engwa and Ozofor, 2015). There are several sections covered in research methodology sections such as philosophy, approach, design, data collection method, sample size, questionnaire, ethical considerations, and findings. A speech on research methodologies was given. The tutor explained to us about qualitative and quantitative research in this class. It was advised that we conduct qualitative research since it suited our study topic. Qualitative research generates a thorough account of participants' experiences, emotions, views, and the importance of their actions. The findings of the qualitative study show a clear and accurate relation between processing information and performance (Snyder, 2019, p18(3)).
As a result, we were instructed to do a qualitative study. I believed that quantitative research was more useful since it provided analytical information. Although, after learning about qualitative research, I realized its importance as well. As a result, in the second week, I learned about qualitative research and its value. I would want to incorporate qualitative research in my ensuing work as well because it offers a deeper understanding of the data. We next devised the questionnaire for gathering qualitative information in the eighth week and learned about the cases. I had no experience constructing a questionnaire for qualitative information at the time. Although, I had a better understanding of how questionnaires are created while having the study aims in mind. For ensuing studies, I may now build my qualitative research questionnaire (Antwi and Hamza, 2015, p5(3)).
I developed an understanding of ethical considerations which is essential while implementing the primary method of gathering information. All these learning would help me in future to maintain ethics during the personal and professional life. Simply, I can say that ethical consideration assists in conducting an overall investigation in a better manner and gaining effective results from different authors' viewpoints. It was my duty to make sure that each and everything was conducted by following ethical practices. While gathering information, I ensured that information will not share with an essential and third part because respondents' assists me in conducting future investigations also. Although, it is very challenging to maintain ethics during the whole process. Also, selecting methods of research is a challenging task.
Reflection on Research Findings
It is also a crucial part of research in which findings of the overall investigation have been discussed which assists in accomplishing desired results of it. Along with this, findings include outcomes of data analysed from different respondents, including perspectives and viewpoints of distinct respondents. In simple terms, it can be said that findings include respondents' thoughts which is essential to discuss as it helps in elaborating different perspectives more effectively that also helps in future while understanding the consumer behaviour. I have understood that evaluation of findings is necessary as it helps in evaluating views of different authors and assists in gaining better results in necessary for reaching final findings more appropriately. However, it is difficult and not an easy job. By using the random sampling method by me respondents have been selected from which information and data have been gathered through a questionnaire. It was the primary method of gathering information and data, which is one of the effective ways as it includes fresh information that has never been published in any books, journals, and articles. However, while elaborating findings, it was my duty to make sure that things were conducted ethically without any unethical practices.
Reflection on Literature Review
The research literature review section was based on retail store designing and layout on customer buying behaviour. For developing a better understanding of the topic, several topics were covered by me, such as the importance of retail store designing, the concept of customer buying behaviour, factors affecting store layout design, the gap in the literature, and many more. 3rd-week research develops literature review study and conducts discussion on the character of the group. Furthermore, concern about creating a team persisted as well as teachers asking to narrow down issues properly so that investigations conduct effectively. Finally, the teacher instructs us to review the research gap included in the literature review that helps in presenting the assignment to the tutor so that each and everything manages in a better manner (Harris and Sandhu, 2017, p6(2)). It helps in future to determine the gap and work for it.
Along with this, the literature review section provides aids to me in developing understanding related to the topic and understanding different authors' viewpoints which is an important part of the overall literature review section. Although, it is a group assignment that discovered the research gap, incorporated it within the project, and turned revised work during the literature review section. During these weeks, I learned a lot about literary studies. I was completely unaware of the crucial aspects of presenting a literature study that I learned over these weeks. In the coming periods ahead, I will use what I have learned to write a literature study, and I will make sure to include the research gap after the research. So, I can begin evaluating the information in the tenth week to determine the research results. During my investigation, I learned about many sorts of information evaluation methods that are utilized to examine various sorts of information. I faced difficulty in coding and the teacher requested that we apply the coding approach for information evaluation because we were using the qualitative research approach. Coding is described as the method of determining the pattern in information items, locating, and identifying theories, and determining their relationship. The codes that are employed enable a researcher to organize and evaluate information in a systematic manner. As a result, I developed a better understanding of the coding method and how it aids in the organized analysis of qualitative information. I can use coding in my future studies to produce high-quality results.
Conclusion
From this overall reflection, it has been summarised that overall research is based on objectives as well as a question which was the effectiveness of retail store designing and layout on customer buying behaviour. Along with this, research methodology assists in selecting appropriate approaches for conducting research and accomplishing research outcomes. Moreover, I understood that literature review is an important section in which objectives discuss within the elaborative form for accomplishing desired outcomes.
